Affiliation to England Athletics provides the club with a number of key benefits including:
- Eligibility to compete in licensed events
- Public liability insurance
- Help and support for administration, workshops, coaching and development
- By registering 10 members as athletes we have 1 club place at the London Marathon
- Road race licence discount for races licenced by Run Britain, for up to 10 events per year
You can use the Benson Striders club affiliation number to register for licensed events. This means that you’ll be noted as running for our club in the race listings and you must wear your club kit (t-shirt/vest at a minimum).
Using the club affiliation number doesn’t mean that you’re a registered Athlete with a competition licence. This means that you don’t qualify for an entry fee discount unless you affiliate as an athlete with England Athletics. Event organisers will check registration numbers to ensure that you’re an affiliated member when you enter a race.
Athlete registration details can be found below. The cost to register as an Athlete is £ 15 for 2019/20. Our club secretary, Jennie Hempleman, can you help you with this if you’d like to register.
